What you'll need

Aeropress brewer

Aeropress filter

1 Aeropress scoop (17g or 2 ½ tablespoons) of coffee

Hot water

Aeropress paddle or spoon

Measure and grind 17g of coffee - on rounded AeroPress spoonful or about 2 ½ Tablespoons. Grind the coffee about as fine as table salt.

Use some of your hot water to wet your filter and cap. It helps the filter adhere to the cap, and heats your brewing vessel. Discard the rinse water and assemble your AeroPress. Make sure the entire assembly is dry, since any residual moisture can compromise the device’s seal.

Add your ground coffee. Be careful not to spill any grounds into the ring-shaped gutter at the top of the AeroPress.

Start your timer when you pour hot water into your brewer. Saturate all the grounds within 10 seconds. Pour to the No. 4 or 220g of water if you’re using a scale. Spin the chamber, making sure all the coffee is saturated.

Once you hit the No. 4, stir the coffee and water mixture and place the plunger on the brew chamber and pull up slightly to create a pressure seal. Don’t plunge yet!

Fasten the cap, ensuring it locks into the grooves tightly. Flip the whole assembly over with haste and control. Position it atop your brew vessel and gently press down with steady pressure, stopping as soon as you hear a hissing sound. This brew process should take just under two minutes.
